I got a chance to create a custom painted version of a dragon mask and now I can’t stop adoring how it came out. It will ship out today but the inspiration will stay with me!
A client reached out to me asking if I could color match a mask to a piece they got elsewhere and as soon as I saw the theme I was really excited to get started.

Electric blue, purple, deep blues, I think these colors are so soothing but lush and vibrant at the same time. They just feel right together, so as soon as I received that headdress as my color-matching challenge I was pumped.

I started with a black base for the mask as I knew electric blue would show up the best and I got to dry brushing the paint on in thin layers to really bring out a shine.
As the horns are cast separately and my client requested that they be more purple and pink, I chose to cast those with a pink/purple tinted resin so I could focus on deepening saturation and vibrancy with paint.
The other smaller horns and details of this mask were then first painted in a light pink so when I applied the true blush of color they would pop against the blue base. I’m really pleased with how the colors worked together!
Everything was hand painted, no airbrushing for this mask!
I sculpted the Dragon Mask at the beginning of 2026 and I think it’s my favorite work of the year, so far. Something about its design, detail, and shape emerged from my mind without much struggle, which is refreshing to experience.
