Nothing quite beats having the freedom to set up a shoot, snap some great pictures, and then decide to mix it up a bit. And by mix it up a bit, I mean, send someone to get a bucket of mud so the model can smear it everywhere.

It never fails. The moment I decide to start saving money, I e-wander across a website that sells lighting or backdrop equipment and I somehow end up with a shopping cart full of useful, but expensive stuff.

It’s tough man!

On another note, I had an awesome shoot with Chris Hughes who does amazing and creative things with online marketing. He also juggles! (What’s not to love about that?) You can check out his website here.

Now I know fellow photographers and even some models may frown upon this, but I almost always have my little dog, Pai, in the studio during shoots. He’s great company and loves trying to get attention from the models who come and work with me. Sometimes he has to be shut in a different room, for example, when he saw Chris juggling, he could not contain himself.

Yes I know… It’s sickening how cute he is. The dog too.

June is racing to a close

It’s Father’s day and my day of rest after a marathon of things throughout the past week or so. Saturday I attended a food pantry fundraiser event and did some veil dancing to help provide entertainment. Donating money and time is nice but it seems like whenever you can mix that together with doing something you love, everyone really gets the most they can out of it.

I had an awesome shoot with Rachel. I have to say that she is one of my favorite people to work with. She’s always up for some kind of challenge and doesn’t balk at really becoming another “character” and looks good doing it. It was pretty hot in the studio, I need to get a better system of air flow so I stop sweating like a freak while snapping photos.

New website look

I’ve done some major renovations on the visual echoes gallery, making it easier to view pictures and updates. I’m so happy with the results and I’m really excited for the new features that will be coming.
